Fantastic Hotel
We stayed at Krungthep Wing of Shangri-La Bangkok. It did not disappoint. The hotel staff made sure to meet our preference to stay at a high, quiet room with excellent view of the Chao Phraya river. The balcony in our room allowed us to take in better the view and activities along the river and the nearby bridge. Other reviews said that the decor is dated but I did not find it so.
Old Money Hotel
I arrived at the hotel early and was informed by the front desk that my room wasn’t ready, which I completely understood. They asked me to leave my name and phone number, which I did, and I went out until 3:30 PM. When I returned, I hadn’t received any calls from the hotel. Upon my return, the staff couldn’t find my details and asked me to go through the process of providing my passport and hotel deposit again, which I had already done. When asked which receptionist I had spoken to, I pointed him out, but he couldn’t recall our interaction, leaving me waiting for another 30 minutes to get my room, without any welcome drinks, unlike other guests.

Our experience with the Chatrium Hotel started before we even entered the oversized lobby doors. Arriving in Bangkok after traveling for 36 hours from our home in Iowa, we were tired and the luggage was starting to get very heavy. I don’t know if the concierge of the hotel saw the look of desperation on my face as I was lugging our bags towards the hotel or just really loves his job, but before I knew it an ambitous young man, who I had hoped was employed by the hotel, was out the door and taking two of our bags without even knowing that we were for sure checking in at the hotel. I wasn’t sure at that moment but it was a sign to come of the exceptional service that we would come to expect with our next two days we stayed with the Chatrium Hotel. The staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating.
A hotel I want to use repeatedly.
Although it is a bit far from the center of Bangkok and the nearest station, the property is spacious and the facilities and services are top-notch. The surrounding shops and the overall safety are also good, so I highly recommend it. Above all, the hotel staff responded meticulously (in English or Thai), and I was able to spend my time comfortably without feeling any inconvenience. It has the best hospitality. Using the card key, access is restricted to the guest floors, and the pool and fitness center are available.

It was a satisfying vacation.
I visited Bangkok several times, and my purpose was to relax at the hotel and use the swimming pool, and it was a perfect place. Although it was an older hotel, it was clean, and I didn’t see a single cockroach. It was my first time visiting during the rainy season, and although it rained occasionally, the clouds made it less sunny, and the water was warm, so I basically lived in the pool.
Gorgeous, luxurious, and peaceful hotel on the river
The Anantara Riverside Hotel is a beautiful hotel in Bangkok hotel with a great location on the Chao Phraya river. The breakfast buffet was amazing and the staff were so kind. This is a wonderful hotel to stay at with small children, as our kiddos enjoyed the kid’s club and the fabulous pool overlooking the river while Mama and Papa loved the services at the Spa and the BDMS Wellness Center. It’s true that the immediate area around the hotel isn’t as exciting as that of a hotel directly downtown, but it’s worth the tradeoff to have the peace and quiet of the river. Plus, the city and the BTS is a short boat ride away via the Anantara’s complimentary wooden boat that comes every half an hour.

A hotel with a total positive balance considering the pros and cons.
I decided on this hotel because all rooms come with a club lounge, all are on high floors, and it is located by the Chao Phraya River. My stay was as fulfilling as I had hoped. There are various types of rooms, but the price differences are minimal, so I definitely recommend the river view rooms. The boats passing on the river are diverse, and especially at night, it’s beautiful. The club lounge offers a hearty breakfast and tea time, which can serve as meals.

I stayed at the Tower Club at Lebua on the 53rd floor. I participated in the Bangkok Marathon, and although the starting point was a bit far, taxis arrived quickly, and it took less than 20 minutes by car, so it wasn’t a problem. The room had a washing machine, which was helpful for washing my gear. Since I could also use the lounge, the all-you-can-drink alcohol was quite nice, and there were some light snacks available. The staff took many beautiful photos with great views, creating wonderful memories.

A 5-star hotel that is worth every penny.
First of all, the terrace view is great! Le Royal Méridien at State Tower and Tower Club at Lebua are in the same building, but since they are on different floors, I stayed on the State Tower side in a room on the 25th floor. Due to the surrounding buildings, I couldn’t fully enjoy the river view, but if you stay on the Tower Club side, it’s much more expensive but above the 51st floor, so the view would be really nice. So, I just went to the club lounge on the 52nd floor to check out the view, and it was fantastic. The restaurant side has a river view and the bar side has a city view, both of which are amazing. Also, if you go to the Sirocco Sky Bar on the 64th floor at night, you can see a fantastic night view.
The strengths are the view from the upper floors and the breakfast buffet.
The response of providing a welcome drink and a wet towel during check-in was pleasant. The staff who guided us to our room were also courteous. Anyway, as a high-rise hotel, I think it offers an unparalleled view from an incredibly high vantage point. It’s breathtaking. If there’s an opportunity next time, I would like to stay in a river view room, preferably one that has a view of ICON SIAM.

I booked a room for three people, but there was only one large bed, and when I tried to add a cot, they said I would have to pay an extra 170,000 won per night for a room upgrade. To be honest, I was a bit flustered at first and said I would just check the room, and the bed size was better than expected, so my mom, dad, and I ended up sleeping in the same bed. It wouldn’t work at all for someone big or who talks in their sleep though. I think Hilton needs to address this. However, the breakfast was delicious, and the location is right next to Icon Siam, which is great.
Nice Week in Bangkok
My girlfriend and I had a week at the Millennium Hilton Bangkok. Firstly, this hotel’s prime location in the bustling heart of Bangkok (near IconSiam) made it incredibly convenient for exploring the city’s vibrant streets and cultural landmarks, especially in case of traffic jams in Bangkok. For instance, after a day discovering the city, I just walked to IconSook for street food; it was so convenient, no need for vehicles, no traffic jams. Especially, this hotel has a hotel’s pier, allowing for free transportation. Secondly, my room was spacious, well-appointed, and provided stunning views of the riverside, the IconSiam Pier, and IconSiam itself.
