Their attentiveness, without ever hovering, meant that every request was met with a friendly smile, and their recommendations for exploring Mexico City felt genuinely tailored to my interests. Room Information
Stepping into my room at Hotel Zocalo Central, I found a comforting haven with sophisticated decor and a wonderfully practical layout that included ample storage. The comfortable bed and excellent water pressure in the bathroom made unwinding after a day of exploration a true pleasure, complemented by the fresh bottled water readily available on each floor. While some rooms might feel a tad small, and the beds a bit soft for some preferences, the overall sense of coziness and the potential for a Zocalo view truly elevated my stay.
Dining Experience
My mornings at Hotel Zocalo Central often began at the Balcon rooftop restaurant, where the excellent breakfast buffet came with breathtaking views of the Zocalo that left a lasting impression. Lovely hotel, great view. Great cafe, great breakfast.
There is a lot to like about this hotel. Great location. Wonderful decor. 24 hour cafe is awesome especially with early or late flights or just to grab a snack. It’s all free and wonderful.
An amazing location and a truly spectacular hotel that exceeded all expectations.
Our entire experience from first walking into the lobby to checking out six days later was superior–far exceeding expectations. This may have been one of my favorite hotels in the WORLD. All the staff was kind, friendly and attentive (from the bellmen, reception desk, restaurant, and room cleaners. The room decor was sophisticated and comforting. We really like the interior design.

The staff at Hotel Catedral consistently offered a professional and wonderfully helpful presence, making me feel truly cared for from the moment I arrived. While a brief wait at the front desk was occasionally noted, the overall attentive service, including complimentary water and snacks in the lobby, certainly left a positive impression.

Room Information
My room at Hotel Catedral, especially one of the updated ones in the newer Pyramid Tower, felt like a lovely blend of modern comfort and the historic charm surrounding me. The comfortable bed and cozy duvet cover provided such a restful night’s sleep, and I loved the thoughtful touches like the mini-bar and coffee-and-tea corner tucked into the writing desk. While some of the older rooms might benefit from a refreshing, the available pillow menu and ample storage made my accommodation feel truly personalized.
Dining Experience
Dining at Hotel Catedral offered a delightful journey, especially with the breakfast buffet providing a wide array of traditional Mexican dishes alongside international favorites, all enjoyed above visible Aztec ruins. The on-site coffee shop was a perfect spot for a morning pastry and a fresh brew, and the separate restaurant options provided variety. Though I did notice service could be inattentive at times, and the balcony drinks felt a bit pricey, the overall culinary offerings were a pleasant part of my stay.

In general, a wonderful stay in a great location. Will return next year.
This review is of my stay in the Double Room in the new Pyramid Tower which I was upgraded to. The room was laid out and very comfortable – the mattress has just the right firmness, the duvet cover was cozy, and the 4 pillows provided a good night’s sleep. There was ample space for storage and hanging your clothes. The writing desk extends to a coffee-and-tea corner with a mini-bar underneath. You can also store your valuables inside the safe that is tucked away in a corner of the wardrobe.
Empathetic and compassionate
The staff at Hotel Catedral have been stellar since Day 1 until I checked out. I was there from Jan 21 to Jan 25 (Room 403) and they were part of making my first trip to Mexico really memorable. They have an interesting list of tour packages, but I’ve not tried them. Instead, I had planned on going to Queretaro to explore the region’s wine scene. And while the hotel offers this package, there’s a minimum of 5 people for the wine tour.

Hotel Bellas Artes
Hotel Services
The staff at Hotel Bellas Artes, with their consistently pleasant and friendly demeanor, made every interaction feel genuinely welcoming, and I appreciated how many of them spoke English, easing any communication. Their efficient daily housekeeping ensured my room always felt fresh and inviting, and the dedicated concierge team was a helpful resource for local recommendations. While I found the strict 3 PM check-in time a bit rigid and noted a fee for overnight luggage storage, the overall service quality was a comforting presence.
Room Information
My room at Hotel Bellas Artes felt like a stylish retreat, with high ceilings and well-sealed, floor-to-ceiling windows that kept the city’s bustle at bay while offering lovely views from my private balcony. The plush bathrobes, quality toiletries, and cozy linens made settling in feel truly luxurious, and having a mini-bar and coffee/tea maker added to the ease of my stay. Although some rooms could feel small or lack natural light, and I noticed a few minor issues like inconsistent water refills, the comfort provided a peaceful haven.
Dining Experience
The on-site restaurant at Hotel Bellas Artes presented a delightful culinary experience, with traditional Mexican dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients that truly captured the flavors of Mexico City. While the breakfast crew seemed a little inexperienced at times, I was pleasantly surprised by the daily replenished mini-fridge, stocked with complimentary snacks, water, soda, and beer, which felt like a thoughtful and generous amenity. It was a lovely touch, even if the hotel didn’t offer dinner options on-site.

Quiet and luxurious stay right in the heart of downtown Mexico City
The location is unbeatable–right in the heart of DT. You can head quickly to Reforma or downtown. We also loved the room–its high ceilings and spaciousness. We also really enjoyed the quietness of the hotel. One would never imagine how quiet the rooms are despite being so close to Eje Central, a busy street.
Perfectly located for museums, Alameda Park & Zocalo. New, beautiful hotel w/great staff.
Perfectly, splendidly located a block from the Bellas Artes, Nat’l museum, Alameda Park & 15 minutes walk to the Zocalo Cathedral – lots of good restaurants and upscale shops in the area. Definitely safe in the evening. I was out alone most evenings until at least 10pm & felt safe. Hotel is brand new – only open a month when I stayed last week. Breakfast crew is inexperienced but they’ll get the hang of it soon & the breakfast was good.

The staff at Hotel Histórico Central truly embodied genuine hospitality, making me feel so welcomed with their friendly and attentive care, where many remembered my name and offered personalized assistance. I appreciated the complimentary cultural walking tour, which was a wonderful introduction to the city’s rich history, and the 24-hour room service added a layer of effortless comfort to my stay. Though I sometimes experienced slower service during breakfast, the overall warmth and helpfulness of the team, from concierge to housekeeping, left a lasting impression.

I particularly valued the fast WiFi and hot showers, which are such essential comforts, along with the complimentary fruit and bottled water found on every floor. Wonderful Histórico Central
My stay at Hotel Histórico Central was nothing short of exceptional. Arriving well past midnight, I was greeted warmly and efficiently checked-in, setting the tone for a remarkable experience throughout. The room was a sanctuary of comfort, highlighted by a luxurious King-sized bed that ensured a restful sleep each night. Essential amenities such as fast WiFi and a reliably hot shower further enhanced my stay, while thoughtful touches like complimentary fruit and bottled water on every floor reflected a commitment to guest satisfaction. Each morning, the complimentary breakfast at the house cafe exceeded expectations, with the Huevos Divorciados standing out as a personal favorite.
Friendly, helpful staff and convenient location made our 8 day stay at the hotel extraordinarily enjoyable.
Hotel is walking distance to many of the major attractions, meeting places for tours, and restaurants, which made it incredibly convenient. Everyone was exceptionally friendly—especially the concierge staff whom we turned to constantly for advice, directions, and help with reservations. Breakfast had the same offerings each day but the food was good and very efficient (wait staff worked like maniacs to make sure guests were served quickly and tables turned over to make room for more guests). The cafe at the entrance was free to guests of the hotel—a delightful perk we’ve never run into before and one which we made use of daily. We also appreciated that each floor had a refrigerator full of bottled water right at the elevator making it very convenient for guests.

Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico Zocalo View
Hotel Services
From the moment I stepped into the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico, I was enveloped in exceptional service; the warm welcome and complimentary champagne felt like such a gracious touch. The staff, dressed in their charming antique uniforms, were incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, making me feel truly cared for, even going so far as to unexpectedly refund a tour due to a language barrier, which spoke volumes about their dedication. Their genuine desire to ensure a flawless stay truly made this hotel stand out.
Room Information
The room at Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico felt like stepping into a luxurious embrace, with high ceilings and a spacious marble bathroom that included both a separate shower and tub, offering a perfect retreat. I particularly cherished the breathtaking views of the Zocalo from my window, which added a magical touch to my Mexico City experience, complemented by the plush linens and comfortable king-sized bed. While some areas of the room felt a little dated, like minor wallpaper seams, the overall grandeur and comfort provided a truly memorable stay.
Dining Experience
Dining at the Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico was a truly grand experience, especially enjoying breakfast on the rooftop terrace where spectacular views of the Zocalo unfolded before me. The breakfast buffet offered a wide array of hot and cold dishes, fresh fruits, and pastries that provided a delightful start to each day, and the hotel lounge thoughtfully provided complimentary snacks and drinks. While I found some of the restaurant’s dinner options, like the pizza, a bit lackluster, the overall dining ambiance and the incredible rooftop vista left a lasting impression.

Excellent
staff, commitment to quality. ordered room service the meals were cold/overcooked. They comped us breakfast next day. we booked a tour of Teotihuacan Pyramids through front desk. though the sites were amazing we were the only English speaking riders on a bus of 16. the next day I went to front desk, not asking for anything, but just making a suggestion that if you send two very limited Spanish speakers on a tour, they should insure that the guide is actually bi-Lingual first!! Upon checkout, they refunded the full price of tour to us, unexpectedly We loved the room, very luxurious, and the variety of pillows provided.
Our stay was wonderful. We loved the historic hotel and its location.
I confirmed in writing before our trip that my friends would have a view of the Zocalo. It was confirmed in writing. However, when we got to the hotel, we were told that there wasn’t a room with such a view available. (A woman who had just checked in had the same problem!) I showed the man at the front desk that I had an email confirming the room would have a Zocalo view, but I learned that the communication confirming the view was from booking. com, not the hotel (contrary to the communication, which said it was from “the property”).
