It was the kind of place where kindness shows, with staff members consistently praised for their attentiveness and readiness to assist with any request, truly leaving a lasting impression. While the overall service was comforting, a few guests did mention that interactions with the front desk could sometimes feel less informative, and there were occasional observations about persistent timeshare presentations that required navigating.

Stepping into the room felt like a quiet yes—a comfortable, cozy space to unwind after a day of Cancun adventures. The Deluxe Lagoon View room, with its two Double Beds, offered a peaceful retreat, complete with air conditioning, a hair dryer, and a television with satellite channels for a relaxing evening. Having a coffee maker in the room was a thoughtful detail that made mornings feel a little more gentle. While generally well-maintained, some guests observed that the decor could feel a bit dated, and a few rooms were noted for being a little noisy due to their proximity to elevators. It was also mentioned that some windows could not be opened, and essential amenities like conditioner or toothbrushes were not always provided, which is something to remember when packing.

Satisfaction

8.8

I went on a trip without knowing English or Spanish, accompanied by another woman. It was my first time at an all-inclusive resort, so I was anxious about what was included in the price, but everything that didn’t have a price listed was included. At check-in, we were given wristbands to track our plans. The dinner restaurants required reservations through an app, so it’s recommended to update your smartphone to the latest version before going. In my case, I couldn’t update because I didn’t have the latest version and was using an eSIM, so I couldn’t install the app.

Pros and Cons

8.0

Pros/Cons mixed: Lots of food choices. Hit and miss sometimes but had some great seafood! One time it was a little tough though. Loved the full service restaurants but you have to reserve at 9 am. You can reserve up to 3 dinner reservations. We went during the Christmas holidays so line wait was one hour.

Exceptional! People, Food and Service

10.0

Loved my room on the Lagoon side! An excellent view and better for me than the oceafront view which was a much more active. But the oceanfront Is fine if you don’t mind it. The location was perfect. It’s a ways down from the main strip, but easy to get to other sights on the strip by bus! Only 1 dollar and the stop was in front of the hotel. The mall is only 8 mine by bus.

Relaxing vacation

Clean, beautiful, nice, friendly, helpful staff. Variety of activities going on at the hotel. Although even though we were given a sheet listing things that were going on, we didn’t really understand it. Wish staff would of directed us towards the area’s as we walked through. Example: We were at the bar, walked out to have a cigarette (yes, there’s places to smoke out front and by the upper deck of the pool area) we came back in about 9pm and the place had emptied out.

Very good

The Royal Sands is a vacation club that also sells all-inclusive vacations via travel sites, Chase card member offers, etc. Royal Sands advertises access to 6 restaurants in the all-inclusive package. However, vacation members get access to make reservations 3 days in advance, while anyone else who buys an all-inclusive only gets access on the day to try to make a reservation. If you can even get a reservation, it will be at 9:30pm. The shuttles to the other Royal resorts (where the Italian restaurant is located, and vice versa for the other resort guests to access Royal Sands restaurants) run every 2 hours, so you can arrive almost 2 hours early, depending on your reservation time.

We had a great time at this resort! All inclusive was as advertised, no worries about food or drinks for family of 5! Used room service as well! Great view of resort, beach and ocean from our balcony, Amazing view without getting beachfront room! Celebrated the 4th of July there and was amazed at all the festivities and dinner party they had poolside to honor American Independence Day!! Meet a gentleman who said he comes there every 4th because of there amazing celebration! We had to make dinner reservations which was understandable but could never get the reservation times we wanted! The last night we wanted to eat at one of the restaurants at another location that we haven’t been to yet! They wanted and up charge to dine there do to a special event!! What why we bought the all inclusive!! There was a hat vendor on location next to pool, would have thought we had some connection to resort being on site. I paid for a hat for him to make and bring back since he said he would be there all week, never saw again!! Rooms not bad at all, little outdated but we spent most of our times at the beach, pool or on the balcony.

Delighted with this first (but not last!) visit and looking forward to returning

9.0

Fabulous customer service at every point of contact, including quick service to fix some maintenance needs in my room. Amazing attitude and professionalism from every staff member we encountered. Loved the Kalmia, El Mexicano, and El Rincon de Don Roberto restaurants especially, as well as having a variety of eateries in the pool area. Having a bracelet as a key brought the relief of not needing to carry a key around all the time. Beautiful beach.

Nice Resort, Incredible beach, Overpriced – at least for the holidays

Decent food options, location was good with a lot of variety, daytime dining was in the pool area or the one main restaurant – all others were closed for lunch, worked out ok for us. The hotel is on an amazing beach. the water is so blue and nice. The staff is nice and welcoming, they are definitely working for tips. The pool is nice, nothing amazing.

Family Friendly

9.2

We are enjoying our stay at Dreams Sands. The resort is a nice size to navigate. There are 2 pools. It is next to impossible to get seats around the main pool. There were chairs open as late as 9:30 at the second pool area and lots available at the beach.

The only thing we regret is not staying longer

9.0

– We were greeted as soon as we got out of the car. Everyone was polite and we were greeted with champange – The food at the Steakhouse was a 9/10 – The Asian restaurant was a 7/10 – The sports bar was great, especially during the NBA playoffs – The resort itself is beautiful – The beach was nicely kept. The waiters also added a nice touch whenever you needed anything – We had a nice ocean-view room. Those views are priceless. – Water activities are easy to book – I coordinated room decorations with the concierge team (THANK YOU MICHELLE) for my Mr’s bday and they knocked it out of the park.

Great place, I’d definitely wanna go again

9.0

The location was great. It was great value for money. The food at the different restaurants was really good. There were a few cool restaurants that booking had to be done for, that were additional cost (not a problem) but they booked out early for the whole weekend so we didn’t get to try those. But the others were great, food was delicious, I got my money’s worth.

It’s really clean!

The beach clubs were wonderful. There were many restaurants and pools and bars! Upgrade for sian Kahn— it’s worth it. They have you use what’s app to communicate needs and that was great! The Italian restaurant and the Miramar were really good. They do a great job of modifying foods. The coffee shop was amazing.
