It’s not a five-star hotel. But the location is absolutely the best!!!
I stayed with my mother (in her late 60s) on a two-person trip. Originally, the plan was for three family members, so I reserved a room with a bathtub for my mother and paid the extra bed fee at the three-person rate. Considering that we would be walking a lot during our trip and wanting to accommodate my mother, I searched extensively for a hotel with a bathtub and finally made the reservation. However, we were shown to a room without a bathtub. During check-in, I was told something like, “???????, so we are upgrading your room,” but it was difficult to understand because the English was too fast and had a strong accent.
Hotel has deteriorated
We left a 5 Star Review Last time but we didn’t rate this stay so highly We stayed at the Sunway Putra in 2023. We were so impressed with the hotel and service, that we didn’t hesitate to choose the same hotel, when we revisited Kuala Lumpur. This time our stay was not as good. Obviously the location hasn’t changed and is perfect for exploring the city and the staff are still warm, friendly and helpful – so what in our opinion has changed. We were upgraded to a lovely room two years ago. That didn’t happen this time.

I have stayed in both cititel and st giles boulevard hotel this month. Overall St Giles is much better compared to cititel. both have direct entrance to midvalley megamall. I stayed in room 1722 in July 2024 Cleanliness: Room is clean, toilet is clean, room smells nice when we enter Wifi: Strong and stable wifi Bed: Good mattress and super comfy Aircond: Moderate power, i wish it can be more cooler. maybe due to the current weather that is extremely hot, I dont feel cold in my room Check in: Super smooth check in at 2pm.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel without booking breakfast in advance. On the morning we decided to have breakfast at the restaurant, both the receptionist and the restaurant manager informed us that we would receive a discount as hotel guests (30% or more). After breakfast, my wife went to the cashier to settle the bill while I took our son to the swimming pool.

Stayed for 4 nights, checked out on 2 November 2024. Hotel location is superb. The same building, we have Mr DIY and also supermarket HeroMarket where you can purchase anything from snacks to home appliances. Parking, if you don’t mind kereta kena hujan panas, the paid parking lot just in front of the hotel, opposite the road will suffice. Sekali keluar masuk.

The hotel was everything good for me. I came here for my one night visit with my husband and two little kids (age 4 and 6 yrs old). The check in was so smooth and the front desk was so helpful. We can get into our room within 5 mins. The parking also easy and safe.

My gf and I had a great 3days 2nites staycation at Sleeping Lion Hotel at Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur from 16th to 18th November 2024, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. Accommodation & Comfort: The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect balance of comfort and modern amenities. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom was well-equipped with good quality toiletries. Water pressure and hot/ cold water was good. There are ironing board, iron, hair dryers, prayer mat, prayer direction, mini fridge, room slipper, usb points and safety box.

Value vs expectations
This hotel is very much value for money. To enjoy the stay, one has to be realistic abt what you pay for. It is a low cost hotel but also seems to be safe (environment), clean (room), facilities like communal water tank, a nice pool, well equipped gym, laundry (washing machine, dryer , ironing board n iron), hair dryer, payable biz lounge/ work space. Not to mention Starbucks payable dispensable machine at the lobby. I think , for a hotel at this priceUS$40-60 a night, it’s a steal.

From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, very very friendly and helpful. The room are good. Good amount of space and I like the separation between rooms that I have an a door for the bedroom is plus. Once a week (Weds for mine) housekeeping was good. Never ran out of tissues and fresh towels.
