There is a reason why Koreans recommend certain places.

8.8

When you come out of exit 4 at Nanjing Donglu Station (Line 2, Line 10), it’s right there on the left. I requested a high floor, and being assigned to the 10th floor is satisfying, but the view is just the indoor hallway view from a different floor, which is so-so. It’s a five-star hotel, and while it’s a bit worn, it still feels clean. I skipped the breakfast since I’m not a fan of Chinese food, so I can’t comment on that. I used the sauna and swimming pool, which had their English names written down.

Everything about the location, hygiene, and service is excellent.

There is always a reason why many Koreans go there. – Location It’s truly the best. It’s very close to Nanjing East Road Station and is centrally located in Shanghai, making it very convenient and quick to get to any tourist attraction. You can enjoy the city and then rest at your accommodation before heading out again.

Won’t book again.

During my recent visit to Shanghai, I opted to stay at JinJiang Metropolo, albeit mistakenly choosing it over another similarly named hotel closer to the Bund. While still within walking distance, the extra ten-minute commute and the inability for cars to park directly in front of the hotel were inconveniences. One of the primary challenges I encountered during my stay was the inadequacy of the air conditioning system. Despite the presence of units in the room, they failed to circulate air effectively, leaving the atmosphere feeling stagnant and stuffy. The solution proposed by staff to open the windows for fresh air and i was given an electronic fan.

Location cannot be beat

We got dropped off the wrong Metropole (there is another Metropolo nearer Nanjing),. The counter staff at that Metropole was sweetness itself to call the correct Metropole to confirm our booking. We had a lovely 10 minute walk to the right hotel and was impressed by the Artdeco architecture. More of a relief was the English speaking counter staff who was so super helpful. We upgraded to a bigger roo,m on the 5th floor.

Dining Experience

Dining at Bellagio by MGM Shanghai includes a breakfast buffet offering both local and international choices, and a halal and kosher restaurant for diverse preferences. The hotel’s main restaurant serves gourmet dishes, encompassing traditional Chinese cuisine and international favorites, with the Chinese restaurant often receiving high praise for its food and professional service. While these options provide convenience, some guests have found the breakfast menu to be somewhat simple for a property of this caliber, and a New Year’s Eve dinner at LAGO was, for one visitor, a disappointing experience with overcooked beef and non-fresh oysters.

Nice hotel but disappointed with the countdown meal.

8.4

Stayed here for 5 nights for New Year’s Eve celebration. We were really disappointed with the 7-course special dinner served by LAGO restaurant in this hotel – 1. They missed our booking almost twice when we double-checked with them 2. The Australian M8 beef is overcooked and too salty with a sweet sour 3. Oysters not fresh and we felt unwell after the meal. We think the food quality of LAGO restaurant simply does not match the class of this luxury hotel.

Beautiful, pristine and well-taken care hotel, however additional always perks cost.

10.0

There was always one English -speaking staff at reception. We were so nicely upgraded to the Pearl Tower view, it’s not the hub of the CBD but in a nice location for long walks, absolutely loved the room, the bathroom facilities and auto-bidet!!! Wow! Loved the tea selections (first time having Longjing tea), no one smoked within the hotel, it was kept clean and maintained. Housekeeping staff work very hard (clean 3 times a day!), and very friendly and always wanted to make your stay comfortable. The gym and swimming pool level had a cool complimentary BMI calculator. Breakfast is very expensive (think it was 550rmb pp/day).

The location was good.

9.6

I was torn until the end between the Peace Hotel, Waldorf Astoria, and Peninsula Hotel, but ultimately, choosing the Peninsula was the right decision. I believe travel is about experiencing the extraordinary, so the location just a few minutes’ walk from the Bund and the Peace Hotel was outstanding. (I wonder about those who plan to travel entirely by subway, though. ) After enjoying the night illumination at Yu Garden, we returned to the hotel, got dressed up, and walked to the Peace Hotel (about a 5-minute walk) to listen to the old jazz band. Then we walked to No.

Best service at the best location possible!

Peninsula has always been one of my favorite hotels in the world. This time I decided to try the Peninsula in Shanghai, and I was very glad I’ve made the right choice. On arrival, the staff were well-trained, friendly and ready to help, and they do have answers to all your questions. The bed of Peninsula is, in my view, one of the things I love the most about this hotel chain…they are so unbelievably comfortable you’d drift off to sleep in no time and always have trouble waking up in the mornings. Since the package I bought comes with spa credits, I used their ESPA for the very first time.

One of a kind experience

Location is unparalleled. service is impeccable. breakfast is good with varieties and quality. The hotel building itself is an icon of the bund and even Shanghai city. When we check in on early arrival, the front desk staff was very kind to give us an upgrade of room which is available immediately.

Beautiful facilities & excellent customer service.

I loved the history, architecture, and retro vibe of the hotel. The location was on the bund and walking around was easy! The hotel was rich in detail, and Lili, the manager, arranged a tour for us in the morning. The staff were lovely, kind, and attentive. I wasn’t informed upon booking that the amenities like gym, spa, sauna, museum, terrace, Cathay room, jazz band, and business centre. We felt like we were charged the full price for the stay and provided with none of the amenities.

A Hotel on Nanjing Road

7.0

1. The location is convenient in that it is on East Nanjing Road and once you leave hotel front door, turn right will walk you to the Bund area which is where you can see all the beautiful harbour at night. Note I also went during the day. From a historical perspective, this was the British area. However, car/bus transport is atrocious as there is only a side dead end road for drop off and pickup. I wouldn’t be able to stand more than the 3 nights I stayed there.

Great satisfaction

10.0

I was worried about the lodging fees being too expensive during the end of the year and beginning of the year, but I was extremely satisfied with the facilities, decor, staff friendliness, and especially the cleaning service, far beyond the price! I’ve traveled all over the world, but this was the first place where they even organized the cables! On the second day, I left a note asking for just a bit more water, and they brought me a whopping 14 bottles, which I truly appreciated. Of course, I couldn’t drink them all, so I left some behind, but I was touched by such service. I think I booked a deluxe city view, but they upgraded me to a corner view room, which was the start of my happiness.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it.

The quality of the toiletries was a standout, especially the shampoo and conditioner, which left my hair feeling soft and bouncy. The body lotion was another favorite: it smelled lovely and kept my skin well moisturized. The room itself was spacious and thoughtfully designed. The bathroom was a highlight, featuring a deep soaking tub, a separate rain shower, and a toilet with bidet functions—truly luxurious. I also appreciated the evening turndown service, with the little box of candy being a charming touch.

Turn off centralise air cond

Due to some customer complaint cool then they turn off the centralise system without inform us. When I complained at midnight 1am and the staff told me open the windows. My room at level 3 low floor and facing the main road, people talking, vehicles passby all the sound to make me sleep less whole night. Next day they said will turn it back in late evening, at the end I also need open the windows to get better cool air. The air conditioning temperature show 23 but feel 26, i get sweating even i naked on bed, outside temperature is 21 but not windy day how the cool air can come in with enclosed room just single window open.
