5-Star Review for The Point, Kangaroo Point
We recently stayed at The Point in Kangaroo Point, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The hotel boasts a gorgeous view of the river, which was a joy to wake up to each morning. The room layout was fantastic, with the bedroom and living room being separate, providing extra space and privacy. The bathroom had two doors, which was a thoughtful touch and added convenience. The air conditioning was excellent—quiet and efficient, keeping the space perfectly comfortable.
Nice hotel but avoid management at all costs
It’s a nice hotel, with clean rooms and nice staff. However, I was astounded to arrive with my family only to be told I couldn’t have the room I paid for on Agoda because Agoda had gotten it wrong. I was then afforded a full cancellation or a far inferior room. Having arrived for a conference with no time to book another hotel, with an excited family, at a busy week in Brisbane, and with the full weight of this issue being placed on us, I have never felt so disgusted by a senior manager’s behavior at a hotel. He was arrogant and stood there staring at me as though we were in the wrong.

Very good
Location was great for getting around all areas of Brisbane. Close to the CBD and the River Ferry. Easy car parking. Staff acknowledged our 40th wedding anniversary which was a nice touch with some macaroons. Perhaps a voucher for drink at the bar would have been even more special.
The Treasury is as a pleasant place to stay, but there is definitely room for improvement.
The Treasury is an enchanting building for sure, and has a ‘Hotel California’ ( eagles song ) vibe, which I quite enjoyed. It was charming and classy, restaurant served great food and atmosphere. Late check out was great!! The staff in the restaurant we’re impeccable many thanks to them!! The check in staff were also very polite and professional!! We ordered room service at various hours and I found the food somewhat subpar and inedible. The menu prices were too much for the quality of food, however they were very quick to deliver. The pillows were very uncomfortable and the room had dust bunnies and the floors weren’t clean in the bathroom.

Lovely staff, location
All staff were absolutely lovely! We were especially impressed with three instances: 1) We have a tradition of bringing a little otter plushie on our travels, and he usually sits on the nightstand (out of the way for making the bed). After a tiring long day out, we got back to our room to find the bed perfectly made up, with the otter sitting and chilling on the pillows! Just this tiny playful touch from the housekeeping team brought us so much joy and we completely forgot how tired we were in the moment, we couldn’t stop laughing! 2) Our sink was draining pretty slowly from the start, and on our second night it drained even slower. I was impressed that the reception immediately attempted to find us a new room. We were told none were available and maintenance went home for the day (which was understandable) but to our surprise it seems like an on-call maintenance person was then called to attend to us! He was super polite and professional, asking if anything else needed fixing. The next morning, another maintenance staff came in to check on us.
Poor Restaurant Service to a Nice Hotel Stay
The accessible room was spacious and met my requirements. The staff allowed my wife a late check out while I was at work which was terrific. Good location in the CBD. The restaurant on the first night struggled badly. There were not many people dining.

Disappointed and upset
I would not recommend this hotel if you are a single person. I only stayed 2 nights fr and sat. got woken up Sunday morning with a women entering my room apparently she had left her phone behind in room 650 but I’m in room 401. She proceeded to look over my things ,picked up my phone , went into the bathroom. I then told her she had wrong room but she said the reception gave her this key. When I went to see the reception they apologised looked at the footage ,saw the woman (pink jumper and black shirt, no shoes) and said they would look into it and would contact me on Monday.
Solo Traveller
As a solo traveler, i was looking forward to a relaxing weekend where i could pamper myself. The hotel itself was value for money but the only two times i was disappointed was, 1. The room service: kitchen closed at 9 probably and as someone who just arrived at the hotel, i was looming foreard to taking a bath and order in some good food, put up my feet and relax. Unfortunately that didn’t happen and i had to order in some takeaways to be delivered. Which took 1 hr to arrive. 2. 5star hotel spa: one of the best experiences in a good place like that is its in house pamparing.

One-night stay before a long drive
We stayed there for one night after flying domestic from Melbourne to Brisbane. The hotel was within walking distance from the domestic terminal and the domestic terminal carpark / car rental services, making it extremely convenient for our needs. The staff was efficient at check-in, and very courteous. The room was nicely decorated, our double room came with a little 2-seater sofa and coffee table giving the room a more homey feel. The room was spacious even when we opened our 2 medium-size suitcases and a hand-carry size suitcase.
Handy when flying in and out of Brisbane
Very convenient for flying out early, we were at the airport in minutes, didn’t even need a shuttle. The room was clean and pretty. The semi open plan bathroom was interesting! Made the room seem larger. Concierge were friendly. Pool looked beautiful.

Birthday weekend
The facilities of the hotel were good (bar, gym, pool, tennis courts) and so was the location – central CBD and close to the malls/trains, however, the rooms are very old school with dingy carpets, old furniture and our first room had a wet smell and thankfully they switched us to better room. The bathroom however, was not up to standard as it was shower over a bathtub and the glass shower panel did not prevent water from staying in, thus, the bathroom floor flooded after each shower. The AC system is also very old and not the best at keeping the whole very cold. The breakfast buffet was decent but definitely needs more variety. It was my birthday and I was offered a bottle of wine to celebrate, which was never received.
Almost perfect
The hotel is in a great location right off the Queen Street Mall. Pool area with good views and lots of sun. All the staff we interacted with were more than great. The room itself was good however is beginning to show its age. The small TV with next to no channels on it doesn’t say 5 star hotel and makes you think you’re in a budget room.
