Lovely staff, location
All staff were absolutely lovely! We were especially impressed with three instances: 1) We have a tradition of bringing a little otter plushie on our travels, and he usually sits on the nightstand (out of the way for making the bed). After a tiring long day out, we got back to our room to find the bed perfectly made up, with the otter sitting and chilling on the pillows! Just this tiny playful touch from the housekeeping team brought us so much joy and we completely forgot how tired we were in the moment, we couldn’t stop laughing! 2) Our sink was draining pretty slowly from the start, and on our second night it drained even slower. I was impressed that the reception immediately attempted to find us a new room. We were told none were available and maintenance went home for the day (which was understandable) but to our surprise it seems like an on-call maintenance person was then called to attend to us! He was super polite and professional, asking if anything else needed fixing. The next morning, another maintenance staff came in to check on us.
Poor Restaurant Service to a Nice Hotel Stay
The accessible room was spacious and met my requirements. The staff allowed my wife a late check out while I was at work which was terrific. Good location in the CBD. The restaurant on the first night struggled badly. There were not many people dining.

The good stuff first. Room is spacious, I do love the aesthetics. black and white and clean with high ceilings. And possibly the most comfiest bed ive ever slept on!! Amazing.

Really loved the room we stayed in and, ironically, we had the same room on our last stay too, so the Inchcolm really feels like my home away from home when we stay in Brisbane. The location is fabulous for walking around Brisbane and for the event we were in Brisbane for at the Tattersalls Club. We enjoyed the little extras such as the snacks and fruit that were available all day. The staff are discreet and friendly. The bar is gorgeous.

NYE Let down.
Booked at Brisbane’s ‘premier’ hotel for NYE, paid close to $500 for the night only to arrive at 2pm to find that our room was not ready. Room had been booked online a week prior. Arrived with another couple, no prior booking, who went straight into their room! Advised staff that we would grab a drink in the bar and wait a phone call when the room was ready (.
Old and tired
Checked in to get in our lift and see multiple bits of gum stuck to the carpet in the lift. Go into our room which was nicely furnished but the cleaning crew had not necessarily left the room in the condition that I would expect. Our suite had a view of the pool area that looked pretty average due to its lack of cleaning. Breakfast buffet service was sub-par and yet again was ordinary getting ok food with a distinct lack of staff rostered to be able to service the number of guests. I paid for a suite and was disappointed on many levels.

Fine but nothing amazing
Does what you need a hotel to do, but didn’t have any of the little extra touches that usually make a hotel experience memorable. When i checked in the lady next to me was being given a full run through of all the features and amenities of the hotel, and i caught the tail end of it about there being a pool on one floor and mini bar pricing on the ipad. I assumed the lady checking me in would also explain everything to me, but she didn’t. Sometimes travelling by myself I can feel a little overlooked and not taken seriously, so I guess this isn’t something I’m overly surprised by but I always wish i could expect more. In the room there were no options for water, neither free nor paid, only a $7 bottle of sparkling water.
Had higher hopes
Nice room, good pool area (although lacking atmosphere), great location No atmosphere by pool, no water to drink there when restaurant is closed Booked 2-3 months out to get a good price only to discover the day before was 25-30% cheaper for same room. When I brought this up there was nothing she could do apparently. We are platinum elite IHG members but only got a 12pm check out and an “upgrade” to same room but a floor higher up. But we did get a bottle of Prosecco as we were celebrating a birthday so that’s nice! The bodylotion in bathroom was empty. Had just been staying at Calile for two nights and wanted to try something else out but would probably pay the higher price to get exceptional service and cool atmosphere there then coming back here.
